A message ... about a gummy_stuff CD
|
suggested by John T
I get e-mail suggesting that I turn my website into a book, but ...
>What! It'd be a thousand pages and cost $150!
Yeah ... and all those spreadsheets ... no way. But John T. suggested that I dump my website onto a CD and sell it for, say ...
>I'd say $5.00
You kidding? It's a bunch of work and I ain't gettin' any younger, but, say, $25. It'd be over 250 Mbytes you know.
>Plus shipping, eh?
Uh ... yeah, I guess. My brother-in-law runs the local post office in our village and I could charge a flat fee - anywhere on Planet Earth.
>And how do you get the money?
I dunno. Maybe paypal.
To buy the CD you can send a money order (or, if y'all trust the mail, actual bills - in any currency - equivalent to $25 CAD) to:
Peter Ponzo
2104 Marine Dr., unit 3
Oakville, Ontario, Canada
L6L 1B7
Please, send me send me e-mail as well with your mailing address.
Sometimes PayPal forgets to tell me ...
When I receive the money order (or cash) I'll mail the CD
... or (to speed things up) use PayPal:
If you use PayPal
- I'll get e-mail from PayPal informing me that you've paid the $25 CAD.
But, sometimes PayPal forgets to tell me ...
(That $25 CAD will include shipping to any place on the planet & handling & taxes etc. There are no other charges.)
- The e-mail I get from PayPal will include your e-mail address. But, sometimes PayPal forgets to tell me ...
- Please send me e-mail as well, giving me your mailing address.
Did I mention that PayPal sometimes forgets ...
I'll burn a new CD, scan it with Norton anti-virus, run down to the corner post office to mail it then e-mail you, informing you that the CD is in the mail
P.S. You can always send me e-mail
Note:
I get hundreds of pieces of spam each week - it's intercepted by my ISP and is (eventually) deleted.
Please don't make your e-mail look like spam.
(That is, don't attach anything ... or offer me special rates on Viagra :^)
>Why would I BUY this stuff when it's free, from your website?
Uh ... I guess if somebuddy wants to look at the stuff without being on the Net.
Or maybe it's just too much work to download all those megabytes ... about 5000 files.
Besides, I've had requests to e-mail all the spreadsheets on my website
>So you just send the CD, eh?
Yes.
>For $25, eh?
Yes.
>And the CD has everything on gummy-stuff.org?
Yes ... except for pictures of my grandkids.
Note:
If you've already bought a CD and would like an updated version, see this.
